Get ready for a high-energy adventure like no other. Arms Wide Open’s “Inspire” which is an Inclusive Theatre Arts Program proudly presents TARZAN - The Beat of the Jungle, arriving summer of 2026. Performances will be held on MT. Helix.

This electrifying production will take audiences on a rhythmic journey through the heart of the jungle where every beat tells a story. Featuring live percussion, mesmerizing dance, and vibrant singing, this spectacular show celebrates the power of music, movement, and community.

True to Inspire’s mission, The Beat of the Jungle brings together performers of all abilities to share their talents on one inclusive stage. Each performance shines with creativity, teamwork, and the joy of self-expression reminding us that the arts are for everyone.

Auditions 12+ will be held on Saturday, February 21st, from 4pm - 8pm located at Arms Wide Open Studio - 237 East Main Street El Cajon 92020,

Auditions for both Aladdin and Adams will be held on Friday, April 10th at The Old Town Theatre, starting at 4pm till 8pm. Rehearsals will begin in April for both shows. All Audition participants will only be cast in one of the two titles but must audition for both. Call backs will be held Saturday, April 11th at the Arms Wide Open Studio from 11am - 2pm for both titles.


Arms Wide Open is excited to bring back its annual dance recitals, starting with a spring recital themed after Michael Jackson’s. This show will be going up at the Old Town Theatre May 15th and 16th of 2026. Stay tuned for times and tickets.

Arms Wide Open (AWO) serves more than 300 individuals with disabilities, from every cultural and socio-economic background. They live in a variety of settings, including group homes, foster homes, and with their families. They come to AWO from throughout San Diego County. Rehearsal schedules are adapted in order to meet the needs of people who live in far-reaching parts of the County. And in January 2024, AWO began offering weekly classes at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.

Arms Wide Open (AWO) is dedicated to providing inclusive arts education and performance opportunities for individuals with special needs. The organization offers a dynamic theatre program designed to engage participants in music classes, dance, and musical theatre, fostering creativity, self-expression, and confidence. Through a supportive and adaptive environment, Arms Wide Open enables individuals of all abilities to explore the arts and develop new skills, while promoting social inclusion and building a sense of community. By creating accessible opportunities for artistic expression, the program helps participants enhance their physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities, all while having fun and making meaningful connections. The mission of Arms Wide Open is to open doors to the transformative power of the arts, empowering individuals with special needs to shine on stage and beyond.
